Our stunning gowns are made by the fabulous people at Promfrocks.  They sculpt the body are reasonably priced and impeccable quality.

Since pink was the colour of the oscars this year.  Why not slip into something sassy like one of the above.  Satin or Jersey fabrics work really well in this lovely blush and you will certainly be grabbing that crown!

TOP TIP:    Ladies do not be afraid to stand out from the crowd!

David brought alongside him some representatives from The Borough Insight as they were coming to see some of the recent works on Gabriels Hill.

David firstly had a peruse of the downstairs of our impressive three floors of showroooms, where he looked through the stunning look books for the coming year with Elaine our lovely manager and head of alterations.

After this Kathryn, one of our boutique’s lovely owners.. and the lady that makes things happen, introduced David to the whole team which includes, Tracy our longest standing member, Stacie, Emma our Saturday girl and Liz.  We are very proud of our friendly and approachable team here at Perfection and David certainly joined in on the jokes.

We brought David up to the ‘wow factor’ floor and he certainly seemed impressed by our vast collection.

A huge thank you to David and his team for taking the time to shine a spotlight on Perfection Bridal.  It was a  slight change in the schedule for us on a usual Saturday …but nonetheless a real pleasure and lovely opportunity to present the boutique we are all so proud to call ours.

2. The shoes – Blame your next shoe shopping trip on us! We will need you to attend your alterations appointment with the heels or flats you will be wearing so we can determine where to alter the hem of your dress to.  Check out our amazing styles by Rainbow club.  Made with a sumptuous bliss lining.  These shoes are made for brides, you can dance the night away and not feel a pinch.

4. Suits – Get those boys sorted and organised as early as you can. They need military precision and there may well be alterations needed on there tailored trousers also.  We have some great deals on Ready to Wear Suits this year also. . N.B Ask one of our stylists to show you our offers on lounge and tails suits.  Currently selling navy and black lounge and tails.

5. Photographers and videographers – Capture your day with memories that last a life time.  Certainly an investment and one of the larger costs but well worth the pennies, allowing you to have a lasting memory. Ask other brides and look for deals but remember, a good photographer is key when capturing your day.  We know a huge array of fantastic photographers in store too.  Just ask any one of us for recommendations.  We want to help you wherever we can.  Liz’s favourite photographer is benmooreweddingphotography.com He is amazing and will make your wedding look like something out of Vogue.

6. Cake –  There are so many amazing things you can do with a cake. Cake alternatives  donuts, eclairs or even a cheese tower!

Who will offer me the most experience?

When buying your wedding dress, cost may be something that you are thinking quite alot about.  We highly recommend going to an established boutique with years of experience.

Here at Perfection Bridal between our team we have a staggering 75 years plus of experience in the bridal industry.  We are experts in style, what suits different ladies, body types, designers, fabrics, dress shapes, how to walk, the perfect fit and alterations.

With the surge of many online options and budget bridal franchises etc, you may think you are finding a dream dress for very little.  Having a little read through of this blog, may make you aware of some factors to consider.

Where will I receive impeccable style advice?

When choosing a dress- for the biggest day of your life!  It is always a great idea, to get real expert advice from stylists, that understand body shape.

It is so often, here at Perfection, that we lead brides to dresses that they would never have clicked on online , or picked up in a budget store and yet are happier than they have ever been.

Only stores with a real consultative nature and ample time to devote to brides individually, will afford a bride this kind of customer service.

Are you buying in haste because it is lower cost?

You are hovering over buy now  with your cursor, or make a bid, OR you have found yourself in a budget bridal franchise, you are queuing up to try your dress, with maybe a maximum of four dresses… Either scenario both dresses have a deliciously low price tag…. BUT…

Hit pause –  Do you feel you have had the service you dreamed of when buying a dress?  Do you feel you have had a special experience?  Do you feel this is one of the most special moments of your life?  Do you have a clear understanding of how and where you will need alterations?  Could there be hidden costs as more work needs doing than you realised?  Have all of your questions been answered?

If you do feel you may be buying in haste, give us a call, have a chat with us on the phone about your bridespirations and just pay us a visit.  We don’t charge for appointments so just pop along and see the difference.  Also see if you leave liking the same style.  We bet we find you something even more wonderful and the price may not be so different as we have a wide range of pricings.

Where will you have the best size and fit?

All bridal dresses will need a certain level of alterations.  These dresses are made to each specific size chart for that designer.  As with the high street size charts can vary.  Having an experienced stylist measure you and order the correct size and give you the correct advice on which size to go for will help you enormously.  Start right and you’ll finish right.

Where do you want your alterations and aftercare to take place?

When buying from a budget franchise or online from a wholesaler that is not well researched, you will not be allocated a seamstress that you have met.

You may receive a list of numbers, but how do you know if they can fit you in to their schedule in time for your big day.  Are you aware of their reliability or their skill.

We pride ourselves on our alterations team.  A seamstress that works in house for a couture boutique, such as our lovely ladies Elaine, Kathryn and Charlotte are well trained in some of the best fashion houses, worked with countless labels and have an excellent relationship of trust with our designers.  Our designers know that their creations are in amazing hands from point of sale right through to alterations and finally a brides big day.  You’ll also be pleased to know all our alterations are done in house and will not leave our workshop until you take it home.

You may be lucky, but why risk it.  Go to the experts.

What worst case scenarios should I consider when boycotting boutiques and going budget to ‘save money?’

Sadly time and time again we see brides buying from online portals and the lower cost franchises and ending up with a second rate fit, be it proportionally or length.  Or just the totally wrong dress for that lady.

Brides often come to us with the desire to start again and in doing so end up spending more, because they rushed into a cheap dress with no real expert advice from people that have been working in bridal fashion showrooms for their whole careers.

It’s the age old saying “buy cheap and buy twice”

But my budget is quite low for bridal, what can I do?

We normally say to brides to leave at least a year to get your dress, that being said we can do quick turn arounds.  However with brides ordering in December and looking at April/May delivery…. You may want to get your orders in before Christmas.

Why does it take so long?

Bridal dresses can be extremely detailed with exquisite craftmanship, which is most certainly true of our designers.  With that in mind the dress needs ample time to be made in your size.

Don’t forget about alterations!

When your dress arrives we will be seeing you for your alterations.  Unless you are very lucky most dresses will need a nip and a tuck to get perfect.  So we like to build in contingency for these so you are as relaxed as possible on the lead up to your wedding.  You will have two fittings with our extremely experienced in house alterations team.

It sounds like I have left it too late…. What now!

Never fear we are here to be your fairy Godmothers where possible.  We try to keep a selection of stock and ready to wear.  Whilst you are not getting a brand new dress with an extremely limited amount of time.  You will be able to get a dress at a lower price,  We try and keep a variety of sizes, but there is an element of luck involved in finding something off the peg, so it is preferable to leave yourself more time.

So 2019 brides book now and lets find you your dream dress!

2. DO… Trust your stylist. We are experts in body shapes and reading our brides. Years of seeing dresses on different ladies of all different heights, styles, proportions, shapes and sizes, means we have an excellent knowledge of how something will look on you.

3. Do… tell us all about you and the big day! We want to hear about everything. From the flowers to the favours. Tell us about your lovely groom, how you met. All of these things will lead us to the dream gown. Building a picture of you and what makes you tick is so important when getting your once in a lifetime dress spectacularly spot on.

4. Do… Limit your guests. Too many opinions can leave brides feeling overwhelmed and deflated. Whilst you might want to bring all your bridesmaids along with you, plus your auntie and your nan and all your special people… this can be a big no no. One or two really trusted opinions is all you need. Trust what you like and your vision for your day and let us help you to achieve that. Everyone’s tastes are different and you have to go with your feelings when you are stood there in that dress that you love. We want tears of joy. Not tears of deflation.

5. Do… Have an idea of what you want to spend. Setting yourself a budget is a good way of narrowing it down. Wedding dresses can be very reasonable but the sky really is the limit. If you don’t want to spend over 2k don’t be tempted to put something on that is 3.5k. We want to make your dreams come true. Of course if you do absolutely fall in love with something you don’t have to pay for it all at once. We do ask for a 50% deposit though. So having a good think about your realistic spend will help you enormously
